Udupi, Jul 21: The Play school and Kindergarten students of St Mary`s English Medium School celebrated Grandparents Day with great enthusiasm on July 19 at J P Tauro Hall.

The program commenced with a prayer song sung by UKG students followed by welcome speech by Ethan and Pranshi from UKG A. UKG kids briefed about the importance of the day. Thereafter a beautiful wishing dance was performed by play school kids and an Action song by LKG children. A Dramatic dance was played by kindergarten students.

Most heart touching and mesmerizing moment of the event was the grandparents and grandchildren dance performance which brought smiles and happy tears to many faces.

Dapsy Vaz introduced the chief guest Henry D'Souza and Mary D'Souza. The chief guest Mary D'souza enlightened the audience on the importance of grandparents in the family and their priceless contributions in the socialization of grandchildren.

President of the programme Fr Charles Menezes elaborated the importance of teachers in the life of the young children. Interesting recreational games were conducted by the teachers for the grandparents.

Correspondent Fr Charles Menezes, principal Fr Vijay D'Souza, vice principal Rita Quadras and kindergarten coordinator Dapsy Vaz were the dignitaries on the stage. Anvi and Cian of UKG extended a vote of thanks. Renita D'Souza anchored the program. The program ended with the School Anthem followed by refreshments.

It was truly a heartwarming event that celebrated the spirit of love, respect, and togetherness between generations. Seeing the grandparents and their grandchildren share such special moments was a delightful experience for all.
