Mangaluru: Carmel School celebrates Green Day with message for nature

Media Release

Mangaluru, Jul 19: The kindergarten section of Carmel School celebrated Green Day on Friday July 18 with great enthusiasm, as children and teachers dressed in vibrant shades of green to promote environmental awareness.

The day featured a storytelling competition for UKG students, where 30 young participants shared nature-themed tales, highlighting the importance of conservation. Children also enjoyed a green food tasting session, bringing healthy snacks like cucumbers, green apples, and grapes.

Creative hands were at work as LKG students took part in coloring activities, while UKG children explored vegetable stamping, turning ladyfingers into floral art.

As part of an eco-conscious initiative titled ‘Tiny hands, big change – Say NO to plastic', children brought used plastic bottles from home to reinforce the message of reducing plastic use.

The event was a joyful blend of learning and creativity, encouraging the youngest learners to become environmentally conscious and responsible citizens from an early age.
