Mangaluru, Jul 17: The Anti-Drug Awareness Programme organized by the Anti-Drug Committee of Srinivas University – Institute of Allied Health Sciences (SU-IAHS) was successfully conducted on July 7 Srinivas University Mukka Campus at 11 am. The event was themed "Break the Cycle", aligning with the 2025 national awareness campaign to #stopOrganizedCrime.
In the absence of the chief guest Pramod Kumar P (Police Inspector, Surathkal Police Station), the session was led by Dr Swathi D, assistant professor and course coordinator, Department of Forensic Science. She delivered an informative and impactful talk on the topic of drug abuse, highlighted drug addiction mechanisms, types of drugs, consequences, and treatment options.













Nisha from the Department of Clinical Psychology efficiently anchored the event and delivered the welcome address. Pooja from the Department of MLT proposed the vote of thanks. Prof Pavana Krishnamoorthy (Dean, SU-IAHS) and Dr Ramakrishna N Hegde (chairperson, anti-drug Committee) also addressed the audience, emphasizing the importance of awareness in breaking the drug abuse cycle.
The session witnessed active participation from SU-IAHS students and faculty members. The event was well-planned, smoothly executed, and served its purpose of educating and inspiring youth against substance abuse.
