Mumbai, Jul 16: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan took to social media to express heartfelt admiration for his son Abhishek Bachchan’s stellar performances in his latest films I Want to Talk, Housefull 5, and Kaalidhar Laapata, calling each role unique and brilliantly executed.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the veteran actor lauded Abhishek for delivering three distinct performances in a single year. Writing in Hindi, Amitabh noted:
“Ek saal main teen filmein banaayi aur teeno alag alag bhumikaaye… aur teeno mein aesa pradarshan jo sab se alag kirdaar; kahin bhi nahi laga ki ye Abhishek Bachchan hai.”

(“Made three films in a year, each with a completely different role… and in all three, such unique performances—it never once felt like it was Abhishek Bachchan.”)
Continuing his praise, the proud father added, “To see something like this in today’s era, to accept and portray it so convincingly—Abhishek, you’ve shown the world your talent. My blessings and lots of love. Yes, you are my son, and no one can stop me from praising you.”
Abhishek’s recent drama Kaalidhar Laapata, directed by Madhumita, tells the story of a middle-aged man suffering from a degenerative disease who escapes his family’s abandonment plan and bonds with an orphaned boy at a fair.
In Housefull 5, a June release directed by Tarun Mansukhani, Abhishek appeared alongside a massive ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Riteish Deshmukh, and others in a comedic murder mystery.
The actor also starred in I Want to Talk, a poignant drama based on the real-life story of cancer crusader Arjun Sen, navigating both a life-altering surgery and a complex father-daughter relationship.
Amitabh’s glowing remarks have added to the buzz around Abhishek’s evolving filmography, marking 2024 as a standout year in his career.
