Udupi, Jul 4: Manasa Rehabilitation and Training Centre, Pamboor, celebrated Doctors’ Day with heartfelt tributes to its founder, renowned physician Dr Edward Lobo, who has dedicated over five decades to the healing mission. The event was marked by emotional moments, cultural performances, and deep gratitude for a life of service.
In a felicitation ceremony held at the school premises, Dr Edward Lobo addressed the gathering and said, “Reflecting on my 56 years of medical service, God has worked wonders through me and used me as his instrument in this healing mission. As long as he gives me good health, I will continue to serve the least in society and this special school.”


























Sr Vinny Gonsalves, principal of Manasa, narrated Dr Edward Lobo’s remarkable journey from the inception of the centre. “For the rich and wealthy, there are many. But for the poor and the needy, it has always been Dr Edward,” she said, expressing heartfelt thanks for his unwavering care for the students and staff.
Henry Menezes, in his presidential address, praised Dr Edward ‘s dual role as a compassionate physician and a visionary administrator. “His kindness and commitment have laid the foundation for this institution’s success,” he noted.
As a mark of respect and appreciation, the school honoured Dr Edward with a shawl and floral tribute. Students paid tribute through lively dance performances and a short play, showcasing their love and admiration for their beloved founder.
The programme began with a warm welcome by Shalini, followed by an introduction of Dr Edward by Shashikala, highlighting his achievements and contributions to society.
