Kajol's horror drama 'Maa' hits theatres, Netflix release awaited

Mumbai, Jul 2: Maa, the much-anticipated horror drama starring Kajol Devgan, was released in theatres on June 28, 2025, and has already made waves with an impressive IMDb rating of 8.4/10. Directed by Vishal Furia and written by Ajit Jagtap, Aamil Keeyan Khan, and Chaitanya Mohan, the film weaves a chilling tale of motherhood, evil, and transformation.

Set in a haunted village where young girls mysteriously disappear, the story follows a mother-daughter duo who decide to fight back. As darkness looms, the mother transforms into Maa Kaali to battle the demonic forces threatening their lives.

The film also features a powerful ensemble cast including Yaanea Bharadwaj, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Roopkatha Chakraborthy, Jitin Gulati, Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, and Gopal Singh.

While the movie continues its theatrical run, Maa is expected to stream on Netflix post its cinema release. However, the official OTT release date is yet to be announced.
