Mumbai, Jun 21: As Siddharth P. Malhotra’s period drama Maharaj completed one year since its release, lead actress Shalini Pandey took to social media to thank fans for their overwhelming love for her character, Kishori. Her performance struck a chord with audiences, earning praise for its sincerity and emotional depth.

Sharing her gratitude on Instagram, Shalini wrote:

“It’s been a year since you met Kishori. I had already lived with her for a while, but your love gave her life beyond the screen. Endlessly grateful to you, and to the team that built Maharaj with heart.”

The sentiment was echoed by Sharvari, who portrayed the vibrant Viraaj. In a nostalgic and emotional post, she wrote:

“‘Haan Ke Haan’—a line from Maharaj—has now become an emotion! The love you’ve shown Viraaj is incredibly special. From recreating dance moves to dressing like her and making reels, I’m overwhelmed. Thank you for embracing her with so much affection.”

She extended her appreciation to the entire team behind the film, tagging co-stars and creators:

“Thank you @yrf #AdityaChopra @siddharthpmalhotra @vaibhavi.merchant @jaideepahlawat @shalzp @Junaid @snehadesaiofficial @netflix_in @monalithakur03 & the whole cast & crew!”

Sharvari ended her post with a playful nod to the film’s dialogue, saying:

“Aap sabhi ne mujhe itna pyaar diya, aaj mera pyaar accept karenge? Bolo #HaanKeHaan? Kyunki ‘Naa’ ka toh option hi nahi hai! #1YearOfMaharaj”

Produced by YRF Entertainment, Maharaj not only introduced Aamir Khan’s son, Junaid Khan, to Bollywood but also featured acclaimed actor Jaideep Ahlawat in a pivotal role. Based on Saurabh Shah’s novel and inspired by the 1862 Maharaj Libel Case, the film centers around a courageous journalist’s fight against a powerful religious figure, exposing deep-rooted hypocrisies in society.

The film remains a powerful reminder of journalism’s role in justice, and the cast’s reflection on its anniversary has rekindled fond memories for fans across the country.
