Hyderabad, Jun 18: Sekhar Kammula’s much-awaited socio-drama ‘Kuberaa’, starring Dhanush, Nagarjuna, and Rashmika Mandanna, has cleared the final hurdle before release. The film, slated to hit screens on June 20, has been granted a UA certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) after undergoing 19 cuts, trimming the runtime by 13 minutes and 41 seconds.

The official X handle of the film confirmed the certification with a post that read: “181 minutes of drama, emotion, love, greed, thrill, and everything in between! Kuberaa – A complete U/A socio-drama that promises a fresh cinematic experience.”

The CBFC’s revised certificate, now circulating online, notes that several scenes featuring key cast members, including Dhanush, Rashmika, and Jim Sarbh, were removed. Despite the cuts, the film’s intense narrative and unique blend of social commentary and drama remain intact.

‘Kuberaa’ is generating immense buzz as it marks Dhanush’s Telugu debut and is Sekhar Kammula’s second Tamil film after Anaamika. In the film, Dhanush plays a beggar who takes on the system, while Nagarjuna portrays the powerful antagonist. Rashmika’s character is one that Dhanush's character deeply trusts, adding emotional depth to the plot.

Backed by Suniel Narang and Puskur Rammohan Rao of Amigos Creations, Kuberaa promises to deliver a fresh cinematic experience with a powerful message and gripping performances.
