Mangaluru: Eid-Al-Adha celebrated with Joy at Ladyhill Victoria PU College

Mangaluru, Jun 14: On the occasion of Eid-Al-Adha, the students of II Commerce hosted a programme on June 11 in the College Conference Hall. Haleema Sharvana, Alumni of Ladyhill Victoria Composite PU College presided over as the chief guest.

The celebration was also graced the college principal Sr Sharmila AC.

The celebration began with a prayer song and followed by welcome dance. Archana of II Commerce welcomed the gathering. Significance of Bakrid was represented symbolically by enacting a skit based on sacrifice and sharing. Students also displayed sufiana music through Qawwali. Harshitha read out the significance of Eid -Al-Adha and conducted quiz for the audience. Students displayed Arabic dance and culture.

Haleema Sharvana addressed the students about the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of obedience to God’s command. She emphasized on peace, happiness and prosperity. Students should develop a spirit of sacrifice and sharing among each other. Hard work is the only key to success. Haleema Shardana is working as a pharmacist at Medcure Pharma, Kavoor.

Ayisha Rayiza compered the programme. Fathima Al Izma proposed the vote of thanks. Rithin Joyline D Almieda, lecturer in English was the staff in charge. The programme was witnessed by the lecturers and the students in the conference hall.
