Panaji, Jun 9: Amidst the heavy crowds that thronged Goa’s coastline over the Eid weekend, Drishti Marine lifesavers were kept busy, successfully rescuing three youths from drowning and tracing several missing individuals.

A 12-year-old boy from a tourist group visiting from Maharashtra went missing at Calangute Beach on Sunday. After a frantic search by his family, Drishti lifesavers were contacted. Acting swiftly, the team circulated a digital image of the boy via WhatsApp groups and launched a thorough search. The boy was located and handed back to his parents following proper identification.

At Colva Beach, lifesavers successfully traced an eight-year-old girl and two missing women, reuniting them with their families.

Meanwhile, at another site, three youths aged between 17 and 22 were rescued from strong waves after venturing into waist-deep water. The lifesavers’ quick action ensured their safety and prevented potential tragedy.
