Srinivas University, Institute of Aviation Studies host collage making, pick & speak competition

Mangaluru, Jun 7: As part of the World Environment Day celebrations on June 5, the Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University organized two engaging events collage making and pick and speak to promote environmental awareness among students. The event was held under the guidance of dean Dr Pavithra Kumari, and HOD Anjana T V Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University.

The collage making competition, titled ‘Piecing Together the Planet’, was conducted on the theme ‘Our Planet, Our Home’ and aimed to encourage teamwork and creativity through visual art. Students from various aviation-related programmes, including BBA aviation management, BBA aviation & logistics management, BBA aviation travel and tourism management, and MBA aviation management participated enthusiastically.

In the undergraduate category, the winning team included Anna Preethika, Kshithi, B U Preksha, Nishitha G Shetty, Thrisha H Shetty, and Sharanya G, while the runner-up team consisted of Nayana K P, Nithya G S, Yashika M R, Kanugodu Meghana, Merlyn Juje Fernandes, and Shilpa, from II BBA aviation management. In the postgraduate category, Devika, Harshitha A, Gopika Raj P S, Nejha P H, Primal Sweedal Lobo, and Noshin Shaikh from I MBA aviation management secured the first place. The students were appreciated for their originality and teamwork.

The pick and speak competition, titled ‘Speak for the Green’, was held to encourage students to express their thoughts on environmental issues with confidence and clarity. A total of 14 students participated, representing various Aviation Management programmes. Participants were given topics like climate change, acid rain, and deforestation on the spot. Rithika Vijay Murudeshwara from III BBA – aviation management won first place, while Mohammed Sinan from II BBA – aviation & logistics management secured second place. The event provided a valuable platform for students to reflect on critical environmental topics and develop their public speaking skills. Both events were successful in fostering environmental consciousness and empowering students to contribute their voices and creativity toward a sustainable future.
