Bantwal, Jun 6: In an effort to foster political awareness and democratic participation among students, Loretto CBSE High School, Loretto, held its school parliament elections on June 6. On June 5, the nominations filed by the candidates were scrutinised by the principal and the election co-ordinator Violet Rodrigues.

Three nominations were filed for head girl and 3 for assistant head boy and head girl. The candidates provided a platform to put forth their agenda through election campaign.

Polling officers Anitha Shalini Pais, Mareena, Vinitha Priya, Philomena and Jayashree helped for the smooth running of the election. The balloting was conducted at election booth systematically arranged set up at school auditorium.

Students from grades 5 to 10 were eligible to cast their votes who participated in the election process by voting for their preferred candidates. Students arrived at the voting booth in their class order and cast their votes. Then the votes were counted by a team of teachers. The official declaration was announced by the school principal. Riya Lobo from grade X was elected as the head girl, and Nishel Saldana from grade IX was elected as the assistant head girl for the academic year 2025–2026. Fr Jason Vijay Monis appreciated and congratulated the elected leaders.
