SMVITM observes World Environment Day

Udupi, Jun 5: Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, marked World Environment Day on June 5, with an impactful awareness rally organised by the NSS-YRC, NCC, and IIC units of the institution. Centered around the theme “Ending Plastic Usage Globally,” the event witnessed the spirited participation of over 400 students, faculty, and staff.

The rally was flagged off by the CEO of SMVITM at Shankarpura. Participants carried creative placards and raised powerful slogans to raise public awareness about the environmental hazards of plastic pollution. The rally concluded at the SMVITM campus.

The CEO delivered a compelling address underscoring the urgent need to reduce plastic usage to protect the well-being of future generations. Students and staff took a collective oath to minimise plastic consumption, reaffirming their commitment to sustainability.

The Principal also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the urgent need for both individual and collective responsibility in combating environmental degradation. The event concluded with a symbolic tree-planting, further reinforcing SMVITM’s steadfast dedication to fostering a greener and more sustainable future.

This initiative is a testament to SMVITM’s continued dedication to environmental awareness, community involvement, and the development of responsible, eco-conscious citizens.
