Chennai, Jun 4: The makers of director Bakkiyaraj Kannan’s upcoming action thriller Benz announced on Wednesday that popular actor Nivin Pauly will play the antagonist, Walter, opposite lead Raghava Lawrence.

Sharing a new character promo on X, Kannan described Nivin’s transformation: “Soft boy? That was yesterday. Nivin Pauly 2.0—our certified Baddie, Breaking hearts and Breaking rules & Breaking bad. Meet #Walter, @nivinofficial.”

The promo features Nivin Pauly decked out in gold ornaments, wielding a bloodied metal hammer and flashing golden teeth. He interacts with another character—also played by him—revealing the villain’s name, Walter, and hinting at his ruthless nature with a chilling laugh and cryptic dialogue.

Produced by ace director Lokesh Kanakaraj, Sudhan Sundaram, and Jagadish Palanisamy, Benz has sparked great excitement. The film’s music is composed by Sai Abhyankkar, with Goutham George handling cinematography and editing by Philomin Raj. Art direction is by Jacki, and Pradeep Boopathi is the creative producer.

The promo suggests Nivin Pauly may be portraying dual roles in the film, adding intrigue to this much-anticipated thriller.
