New Delhi, Jun 4: In a major digital crackdown, Indian Railways has deactivated over 2.5 crore suspicious user IDs used for unauthorised automated ticket bookings, thanks to its newly deployed AI-powered system.
The Ministry of Railways also announced a record-breaking feat on May 22, with the highest-ever per-minute ticket bookings reaching 31,814, highlighting the strength of its upgraded e-ticketing platform.
To ensure transparency, new user protocols have been rolled out. Aadhaar-verified users can book tickets immediately, while others must wait three days post-registration to access Tatkal and Premium Tatkal bookings.
The reforms have boosted user engagement, with daily logins rising from 69.08 lakh in FY24 to 82.57 lakh in FY25 and ticket bookings climbing by nearly 12%.
E-ticketing now constitutes 86.38% of total reserved tickets. The ministry credited its anti-BOT system and integration with a leading CDN provider for drastically reducing fake traffic, especially during peak Tatkal hours.
The AI upgrades have led to faster load times, smarter bot detection, and quicker complaint redressal through the Cyber Crime Portal, ensuring better access for genuine users.
