Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (JD)
Udupi, Jun 3: "Don’t try to become social media warriors. Every message, every post is being monitored by special police teams. If anything provocative is found, strict action will be taken, including filing a police case," warned Udupi Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar.
Issuing a media statement regarding action taken against inflammatory posts online, SP Hariram Shankar said, "In recent times, many people have been posting communal hate messages on social media. We are taking this matter very seriously. In the past three days, two cases have already been registered, and the accused are currently in judicial custody in both cases."

He urged the public, especially youth, to avoid spreading or sharing such content online. "My request is: don’t become social media warriors. Sharing, forwarding, or uploading such material is being closely tracked by our special teams. Many individuals across the state are spreading such posts, and we are monitoring them."
“Every provocative social media post will be dealt with seriously, and legal action will follow. Given the recent incidents, we are taking a very strict stance,” he added.
Cautioning about the long-term consequences of getting involved in such cases, he said, “Once a police case is registered, it becomes difficult to get a job whether in private companies, government, the army, or the police. So I urge the youth not to get involved in any such activities. We are monitoring all social media groups, and strict action will be taken where necessary.”
