Hyderabad, Jun 1: Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangsri was crowned Miss World 2025 in a glittering ceremony held in Hyderabad, marking her country’s first-ever win at the global beauty pageant.
Speaking to the media after her win, Opal said, “Grit and determination are the two words I live by.” She emphasised that confidence, compassion, and a strong sense of purpose guided her journey. “Always believe in yourself and stick to your core values. I’m here today because I never let go of my purpose,” she shared.

Reflecting on her path to the crown, she admitted it wasn’t always smooth. “It can be exhausting and discouraging, but if you don’t give up, you’ll reach where you’re meant to be.”
Opal, who edged out Ethiopia’s Hasset Dereje Admassu in the final, wore a symbolic white gown adorned with opal-like florals, representing healing and strength. She received the crown from outgoing Miss World 2024, Krystyna Pyszkova of the Czech Republic.
This edition of Miss World featured 108 contestants from across the globe. India’s Nandini Gupta bowed out in the early rounds and did not make it to the Top 8.
India, which last won the title in 2017 through Manushi Chhillar, has claimed the crown six times in the past.
