Mumbai, May 31: Actress Celina Jaitly has opened up about one of the most heartbreaking chapters of her life, sharing how she endured the loss of her father, mother, and son Shamsher within a short span of time.
In a candid Instagram post, Celina shared a throwback photo from her second pregnancy, captured by her husband in their garden in Austria. Smiling in the photo, she revealed that beneath that smile was a heart burdened by pain.
“#6yearsago #twinpregnancy | This photo was taken during my second spontaneous twin pregnancy,” she wrote. “My father had passed away just three weeks before, and we had just learned that one of the twins had a hypoplastic heart.”

She recounted the devastating news they received before leaving Austria for London to seek a cure, only to lose baby Shamsher soon after. As if that weren’t enough, tragedy struck again when Celina lost her mother.
“The happiest time of my life was overshadowed by profound grief,” she wrote, reflecting on the pain of that time.
Amidst the heartbreak, Celina found hope in her surviving son, Arthur. “Yet, I remain grateful that God didn’t leave our arms empty. He blessed us with baby Arthur, the ray of hope who pulled us through the darkness.”
Celina highlighted how pregnancy is often one of the most vulnerable yet challenging times in a woman’s life. “Not all outcomes are the same, so let’s show love and support to every woman, daughter, friend, or stranger walking this path,” she urged.
She concluded her message with a powerful reminder about acceptance and healing: “Letting go is like the medicine we drink despite its bitter taste; in order to heal.”
Celina Jaitly, who is married to Austrian hotelier Peter Haag, is now a proud mother of three boys—Winston, Viraaj, and Arthur.
