Wisconsin, May 20: Tragedy struck in Racine, Wisconsin, when an 11-year-old boy was accidentally shot dead by his sibling inside their home late Friday night, police confirmed.

The Racine Police Department received a distress call around 10:33 pm, reporting a juvenile had suffered a gunshot wound and was being rushed to the hospital by his family. Despite medical efforts, the boy succumbed to his injuries, authorities said.

Preliminary investigations revealed the shooting occurred inside a residence on the 2600 block of Prospect Street, and was accidental in nature. A suspect has been identified and taken into custody.

Authorities have not disclosed how the firearm came into the children’s possession. The incident remains under investigation, and further details are expected to be released soon.
