New Delhi, May 18: A top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander, Razaullah Nizamani alias Abu Saifullah Khalid, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Pakistan’s Sindh province on Sunday, marking a significant development in the crackdown on terror operatives.
Nizamani, considered the mastermind behind the 2006 attack on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters in Nagpur, was gunned down near Matli Phalkara chowk, close to his residence in Matli. According to reports, he had left home in the afternoon when he was ambushed and killed despite being under security cover from the Pakistani government.

Known as a key figure in Lashkar’s terror operations, Nizamani was involved in several high-profile attacks on Indian soil, including the 2005 Indian Institute of Science (IISc) attack in Bengaluru and the 2001 CRPF camp strike in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, which claimed seven lives.
He was also active in the Kashmir module and played a central role in recruitment, financing, and logistics through Lashkar’s Nepal operations. Nizamani worked closely with top LeT leaders like Azam Cheema and Yaqoob and had operated under the alias Vinod Kumar. He was reportedly married to a Nepali citizen and used his Nepal connections to aid infiltration into India.
The killing of Nizamani in Pakistan raises questions about internal rifts or targeted eliminations within terror networks.
