New Delhi, May 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday made it clear that India will not bow to any form of “nuclear blackmail,” warning that future military action against Pakistan hinges on its conduct post-ceasefire.
In his first address to the nation after the execution of Operation Sindoor, Modi stated, “We have only kept our operations in abeyance. Their future depends on Pakistan’s behaviour. India will not tolerate any nuclear blackmail.”

The Prime Minister described the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack—which claimed 26 lives—as “the most barbaric face of terrorism,” calling it a personal loss. He said Pakistan pleaded with India to halt the offensive and New Delhi agreed only after assurances of restraint.
“Operation Sindoor is now India’s new policy against terrorism. A new line has been drawn,” Modi asserted, adding that the world had witnessed India’s resolve being translated into action, with more than 100 dreaded terrorists neutralised in precision airstrikes.
“The enemy now knows the price of wiping the sindoor from the forehead of our women,” Modi said emotionally.
He further added that India will no longer make distinctions between terrorists and the states that harbour them. “This is not an era of war, but it is also not an era of terrorism. Pakistan must dismantle its terror infrastructure—there is no other path to peace,” Modi affirmed.
The Prime Minister’s remarks come two days after a US-brokered ceasefire between India and Pakistan brought a temporary halt to cross-border hostilities following India’s massive air campaign targeting terror bases across the border.
