Panaji, May 12: South Goa MP Viriato Fernandes is set to make his first public visit to Canacona today following his Lok Sabha election win, with the Congress party organizing a full-day schedule to facilitate interactions between the MP and local residents. The visit aims to give people an opportunity to present their concerns directly to their representative and seek assistance in resolving local issues.

Former GPCC General Secretary Janardhan Bhandari encouraged residents, particularly members of the Canacona Congress Parivar, to meet the MP and raise any problems they are facing. Similar appeals have been echoed by District Congress (South) Organisational Secretary Gaspar Coutinho and Canacona Congress Block President Abel Tome Borges, who has also made announcements via loudspeakers across the constituency.

MP Fernandes’ itinerary includes several key locations: he will begin the day at Bhurm Hall in Agonda at 10:00 am, then move to Palolem near the Youth Club at 11:00 am. By noon, he will pay tribute at the statue of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at the KTC Bus Stand and visit St. Theresa Church in Chaudi. His next stops include Shri Mallikarjun Temple at 12:30 pm and a constituent meeting at Shristha Panchayat Hall at 1:00 pm.

In the afternoon, he will proceed to Loliem-Polem Panchayat at 3:00 pm, Poinguinim Panchayat at 4:00 pm, Gaondongrim Panchayat at 5:00 pm, and end the day with a visit to Khotigao Panchayat at 6:00 pm.

While MP Fernandes has visited Canacona before, this is his first public outreach since being elected. Congress leaders are urging the public to take this opportunity to voice their concerns and ensure their issues are heard directly by their elected representative.
