New Delhi, May 11: In a rare and direct message, vice admiral AN Pramod, director general Naval Operations, issued a stern warning to Pakistan, revealing the full extent of the Indian Navy’s posture during Operation Sindoor. The Vice Admiral made it clear that any further provocation by Pakistan would trigger a decisive response.
“If they dare to escalate things, they know what is going to happen,” Pramod stated, highlighting the Navy's preparedness to strike both at sea and on land, including targets like Karachi, at a time of India’s choosing.

Pramod explained that the Navy's response following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack was swift, with carrier battle groups, surface combatants, submarines, and maritime air assets deployed within 96 hours. He described these actions as “measured, proportionate, non-escalatory, and responsible,” while also emphasizing the overwhelming combat readiness of the forces involved.
The Vice Admiral confirmed that the Navy conducted multiple weapon firings in the Arabian Sea to demonstrate and validate its precision strike capabilities. He noted that this show of strength effectively boxed the Pakistan Navy into port, forcing them to adopt a defensive posture and stay close to their harbours.
Pramod also credited India’s maritime domain awareness grid with providing comprehensive situational awareness, enabling seamless tracking of Pakistani movements and reinforcing India’s escalation control mechanisms.
Importantly, vice admiral Pramod highlighted the seamless coordination between the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy during the operation. “The application of force by the Navy was planned in a synchronised manner in coordination with the Army and Air Force,” he said, stressing that this integrated approach was key to India’s calibrated response and played a pivotal role in Pakistan’s eventual decision to seek a ceasefire.
