Chennai, May 9: Actress Pooja Hegde, who has garnered widespread praise for her portrayal of Rukmini in director Karthik Subbaraj's highly successful film Retro, has taken to social media to thank her fans for the overwhelming appreciation she has received. The actress, who has been showered with positive feedback for her role, shared her gratitude in an Instagram story, writing:

Retro, which has already become a massive box-office hit, crossed the significant milestone of Rs 100 crore in collections as announced by the filmmakers on May 6. The film's success has been celebrated with an outpouring of support from fans and critics alike.
In a heartwarming move, the unit of Retro held a thanksgiving event where actor Suriya, who plays the lead role, donated Rs 10 crore from the film's earnings to the Agaram Foundation. This donation will aid students in pursuing their higher education dreams.
Suriya expressed his gratitude to fans, stating, "There is no greater joy than sharing. It has always brought me immense fulfillment to share my success with all of you, who recognised my efforts and gave me an identity as an actor. The overwhelming support you’ve shown for the film Retro has made it a heartwarming success."
He also shared how the fans’ support had inspired him to form the Agaram Foundation, which has been instrumental in transforming the lives of thousands of students through education. He emphasized the need for greater contributions to the foundation to support more students in need and announced that the Rs 10 crore donation would go towards expanding the foundation's efforts this academic year.
"Now Agaram has grown into a collective movement, involving compassionate volunteers, government school teachers, donors, and academic institutions. Together, we have been able to bring about a significant educational transformation in the lives of several thousands of students so far," Suriya added.
