Mumbai, May 4: Actress Srinidhi Shetty, who is currently basking in the praise for her performance in ‘HIT: The Third Case’, has addressed the misconception that she became choosy with roles only after her blockbuster debut in ‘K.G.F.’

In a recent interview with IANS, Srinidhi explained that her careful approach to selecting projects dates back to even before she signed her first film.

“People often think I became selective after ‘K.G.F.’ but that’s not true,” she said. “When I signed ‘K.G.F.’, I was already receiving offers in Kannada cinema. Even then, I had decided not to take anything else until ‘K.G.F.’ released.”

She signed the hit action-drama ‘K.G.F.’ in 2016, and despite the film’s release taking until December 2018, Srinidhi said she turned down multiple scripts during that time.

Her second major outing came with ‘K.G.F: Chapter 2’ in 2022, followed by ‘Cobra’, which didn’t fare well at the box office but held personal significance for her.

“I chose to do ‘Cobra’ because I’ve always admired Vikram sir, and working with him was a dream, regardless of how the film turned out,” she revealed.

Now starring in ‘HIT: The Third Case’, Srinidhi shared how the role came about through a chance meeting with actor Nani. “We met at a film's muhurat where he was supporting his friend, the director. We connected, and that eventually led to this project.”

While many assumed her approach changed after tasting success, Srinidhi insists her selectiveness has always been deliberate. “I’ve been very clear about choosing what feels right. It’s not about fame, it’s about fit,” she concluded.
