Amaravati, May 2: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday expressed strong support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asserting that India is safe and will emerge as a developed nation under his leadership. Speaking at a public meeting to mark the re-launch of Amaravati capital works, Naidu praised the Prime Minister for his leadership and condemned the recent terror attack at Pahalgam.
In a rare gesture, Naidu switched to Hindi, assuring PM Modi of the unwavering support of Andhra Pradesh’s 5 cr people, stating, “Modiji hum aapke saath hain, Andhra Pradesh ke 5 cr log aapke saath hain, poora desh aapke saath hai.” The gathering echoed patriotic sentiments as attendees joined in raising slogans of ‘Vande Mataram,’ with many displaying the national flag.

While PM Modi did not comment on the terror attack or Pakistan, Naidu, along with deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan and HRD minister Nara Lokesh, condemned the attack and paid tribute to the victims. Naidu recounted how his recent meeting with PM Modi in New Delhi, usually cordial, turned somber due to the Pahalgam attack.
“I saw in Modi ji the anguish that the people of my country lost their lives in the terrorist attack. On behalf of Andhra Pradesh, I assure you that we will solidly stand by you in suppressing terrorism,” Naidu stated.
The Chief Minister also lauded PM Modi’s leadership, noting that under his guidance, India has moved from being the 10th largest economy to the 5th in just 11 years. He highlighted the success of Modi’s welfare programmes, which have lifted 15 cr people out of poverty.
Naidu welcomed the union cabinet’s decision to conduct a caste census, calling it a 'game changer' for India’s future.
Pawan Kalyan condemned the Pahalgam attack as one of the darkest days for the nation, while Nara Lokesh emphasized that Pakistan’s actions will not harm India, proudly asserting that PM Modi is the country’s 'missile' to combat any external threat.
