New Delhi, Apr 30: As her debut production Subham gears up for release on May 9, Samantha Ruth Prabhu has opened up about her journey as a first-time producer, stating that taking risks has always been a part of her growth. “You can’t expect meaningful change without taking risks,” said the actress, adding that after 15 years in the industry, her decisions are now driven by passion and purpose rather than fear.
Samantha shared that her production house, Tra La La Moving Pictures, is backed by a strong and supportive team committed to creating impactful cinema. “We’re focused on putting out work that’s intentional and never half-hearted,” she said.
Reflecting on her transition from actor to producer, Samantha admitted that while acting has been rewarding, producing a film has been far more fulfilling. “Being a producer lets me be part of the entire process. I’ve learned more on Subham than I ever did just being on set as an actor,” she noted.
Known for her powerful performances in films like Ye Maaya Chesave, Eega, Theri, Mahanati, and Rangasthalam, Samantha said she doesn’t want to confine herself to any particular genre as a producer. “As a woman, my perspective will naturally shape the kind of stories I’m drawn to—but I want to explore a wide range of narratives,” she added.
Subham, whose trailer was unveiled on April 29, is described as a genre-blending family entertainer with elements of humor, horror, suspense, and emotion.
