Woman Raped on Pretext of Job Interview

New Delhi, Jan 8 (IANS): In two separate incidents, a 21-year-old married woman from east Delhi was raped in Noida by two people on the pretext of a job interview and a teenager was raped by a labourer with whom she had eloped from south Delhi, police said Saturday.

In the first incident, a 21-year-old married woman, resident of Loni Road area in Delhi, was raped Friday by two people on the pretext of providing her a job.

"She was sent to Noida by a placement agency based at Shakarpur in east Delhi," said a police official.

She had gone to Noida Sector 18 along with her sister-in-law. After the victim did not come out of the interview room for a long time, her sister-in-law raised an alarm and helped her escape to Delhi.

The two registered a case at Shakarpur police station Friday. The victim was taken for medical test where doctors confirmed rape.

"We are still investigating and will nab the accused very soon," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Prabhakar.

In another incident, a 14-year-old daughter of a casual worker living in Safdarjung Enclave area in south Delhi was raped by 23-year-old labourer Manjoor Ali in Bareilly Jan 4. The girl had eloped with the accused a few days ago, said police.

"He was arrested from Delhi Friday night when he came back with the victim," said an official.
