Chicago: Kala Sampath, USA, Releases 'Vozram Motiam'

Chicago, Jan 1: The unusual warm weather in Chicago welcomed the inauguration of unique 'Vozram Motiam' CD, by the oldest Konkan cultural association of Kala Sampath, USA, Chicago at the residence of Melville and Merlyn D’Souza.

The Founder President of the association Dr Austin D’Souza Prabhu, in his speech presented the newest venture under taken by Mandd Sobhann Gurkar Eric Ozario, who compiled 12 songs by famous poets and singers of Konkan cultural world and brought about the CD titled “Vozram Motiam”. A fitting title to a unique collection of songs sung by award winning singers.

Dr Prabhu stated that Mandd Sobhann has maintained its unparalleled innovation in everything it has organized so far and inauguration of this CD also amazed its fans worldwide, which broke all the records or CD release in the history of Karnataka by organizing this event in 70 places throughout the world. On its first day, thousands of CD’s were sold throughout the world. He narrated his experience he had during the World Konkani Festival a year ago, attended by President of India, Prathibha Patil, where he was awarded with President’s Award for the Association’s contributions to Konkani heritage and culture along with 24 other association representatives worldwide. He said, this Cultural extravaganza was first of its kind in thousands of years of Konkan history.

The Current and Past Presidents of the association Ligoury Martis and Stany D’Souza, released the CD to the Konkan Chicagoans gathered at the program. It was hot sale of CD’s of 'Vozram Motiam' at this program. At the spur of the moment 20 CD’s were sold as hot New Year Cakes. The attendees gathered had fun time in savoring typical Mangalorean refreshments and greeted each other’s a Happy New Year 2012.
