New Delhi, Dec 27 (IANS): A nine-year-old class two girl student was allegedly molested by her neighbour in east Delhi Monday evening, said police.
The accused has been identified as Babu Sikander, 40, a resident of Sherpur in east Delhi's Khajoori Khas area. Sikander resides near the victim's house and works in a private factory.
"Sikander allegedly barged into the house of the girl, who studies in second standard in a government school, around 3.30 p.m. Monday and tried to rape her after finding her alone," said a senior police official.
In the meantime, the victim's aunt reached the spot and raised an alarm. "Sikander was caught by locals and was handed over to police. He has been arrested and a case has been registered against him," added the official.
