Lucknow, Dec 2: A former disciple of Bhartiya Janta Party’s (BJP) ex-union state minister for home affairs, Swami Chinmayanand has leveled serious allegations of rape, assault and forcible abortion. An FIR in this regard has been lodged at Shahjahanpur district where the ashram of Chinmayanand is located.

The former disciple identifying herself as Sadhvi Chidarpita had lodged the FIR in which she has narrated the sequence of events. As per Chidarpita, she was impressed by the spiritual and political status of Chinmayanand and opted for being her disciple in while Chinmayanand was state home minister in NDA government.

Later after convincing her parents she went to Hardwar where an ashram of Chinmayanand was located. Meanwhile Chinmayanand had lost the Lok Election and also moved in the same ashram.

Later she was shifted to Shahjahanpur ashram by Chinmayanand where he was the patron of one Murmukshu Ashram. Chidarpita claimed that she noticed evil intentions in the eyes of Chinmayanand but could not muster courage. Taking advantage of her helplessness, she was allegedly raped several times and later she was used as a keep. In the meantime, she became pregnant but her pregnancy was terminated by Chinmayanand.
 
Chidarpita was then made Principal of a college which was also owned by Chinmayanand. Meanwhile, Chidarpita came in contact with a journalist BP Gautma through her facebook. Both developed liking for each other and finally married. Gautam then encouraged her to take the bold step and expose Chinmayanand.

Chidarpita claimed that there are several other females in the ashram who are being sexually exploited by Chinmayanand. Now both Chidarpita and her husband plan to take this case to logical conclusion with the accused being punished for his misdeeds.

The allegations and the exposure came at a wrong time for the BJP which is gearing up for the assembly elections in the state. The case also exposed the saints who are often regarded as with reverence in community and such incidents often go unreported.
