Corruption: Man Launches Snake-attack to Teach Govt Officials a Lesson!

Corruption: Man Launches Snake-attack to Teach Govt Officials a Lesson!

Daijiworld Media Network

Lucknow, Dec 1: The world has seen some unique forms of protest - from climbing towers to marching without clothes, but this one ought to rate among the weirdest.

On Wednesday November 30, a snake-charmer who was miffed with government officials over an issue regarding land allotment gave them the scare of their lives, when he let loose a bunch of snakes in their office!

The incident occured in Haraiya town of Basti district near Lucknow.

Hakkul, the snake-charmer was reportedly frustrated with the officials for not responding to his repeated pleas to allot him a small piece of land to conserve his snakes.

Police said that nearly three dozen snakes were captured and local snake-charmers were hired to look for any more in or around the land revenue office.

Hakkul had applied for the allotment of the land in the outskirts of the town. The tahsildar, however, said that it was not possible to allot the land for conserving snakes as there is no such provision, and hence could not give a reply to the man.

"Instead of seeking a written reply, which we would have issued, Hakkul created panic in our offices by letting loose a bunch of snakes all over the office," he said.

"Employees as well as the public went running for their lives," he added.

But Hakkul had a different version. Speaking to the media, he said that he had written to the President of India from whom he got a positive reply and a letter of recommendation for the district magistrate.

"The district magistrate promised to allot a small plot of government land free of cost for the purpose," he added.

"However, two years have passed since then and the local administration has simply been dilly-dallying on the issue because I refused to bribe them; after having waited patiently for so long, I had no option but to leave all my snakes in that very office," he added.

State laws have provision for free allotment of government land to poor to earn their livelihood.

A good way to take a revenge. How come the government officials did not obey the orders from the President of India to the District Magistrate to allot a small piece of land free of cost to the snake charmer Hakkul, Does it take two long years? There is corruption going on somewhere. Hakkul, you did the right thing and hope the President of India take the right action to punish the wrong doers.

    Dear Sirs,

We are also corrupt. If not, the corrupt can not take anything.
Please note: corruption in some circles is very systematic say Rs. 50.00 for a file. We call it honest corruption. There are others who can corrupt the system to milch the cow and gobble it (cow)too. This type is killing us.

Hoshiar, awaken all Hakkul's and make them help us. Annaji, please take note.

This is no joke. We have to think on this subject thoroughly. We cannot kill or hammer the politicians as we will be criminals which we dont want.
Let us accumulate many snake-charmers it will be cheaper to maintain them. They in turn mantain the snakes. You can guess what we can then do. This is only
    self-defense ?

Why u want that guy to come down to mangalore? Cant u protest by urself? this problem is not only in mangalore we have corruption all over india and which cannot be stopped in a day or two. it might take decades to demolish that corruption word from our dictionary.
james, mangalore::: Why u wanna point only bjp leaders? Do u think Congress and other leaders are good? The corruption at the first started by Congress leaders only and now its continued by other parties too... There is no point in blaming only one party... and BJP did the corruption and they dont know how to hide it but congress they are pretty good in hiding things.. Experience does matter my dear friend.
