Maya Lashes out at 'Yuvraj' Rahul

Lucknow, Nov 12: Chief Minister Mayawati lashed out at the Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi terming him as 'yuvraj' who is busy targetting her government. Mayawati was addressing the inaguration ceremony of Dr Shakuntala Mishra Handicapped University in Lucknow on Saturday.

"The centre is giving step motherly treatment to UP. Yuvraj Rahul keeps mum on this issue. He also does not get angry over the rising prices, petrol hike. But he does not let go any opportunity to tarnish the image of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) government in the state," said Mayawati.

She openly lashed out at Rahul stating that he better check the spiralling prices which are the gifts of UPA regime. He also cited the Mirchpur incident in Haryana where dalit atrocities have become order of the day.

The BSP supremo looked in election mode lashing out at all the opposition parties particularly the Congress. The state is likely to go to polls in early 2012. The Chief MInister also laid the foundation stone of 67 projects and schemes worth Rs 5532 crores and inaugurated other 169 projects and schemes worth R 10,611 crore. She said that these also included three power projects which will enable the state get the status of surplus power state by the end of 2014.

Mayawati also targetted the religious gurus who are currently undertaking yatras in UP. "They are nothing but a thing of amusement for the public and provide entertainment. There will be no repurcurssions of these yatras during elections as people are hardly interested," she said.

It would be interesting to see how Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi reacts to Mayawati's charges during his public rally at Phoolpur in Allahabad on November 14.
