Odisha Protests Its Tourist Site on Andhra Website

Bhubaneswar, Nov 10 (IANS): Odisha Thursday protested the inclusion of one of its prominent tourist sites in the website of Andhra Pradesh's tourism department and urged its neighbour to correct the error.

In a letter Thursday to his Andhra counterpart Kiran Kumar Reddy, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said Mahendragiri hills which have been included in the website of the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation are very much part of Odisha's Gajapati district.

"It is unfortunate that a corporation of Andhra Pradesh government has included the Mehendragiri hills in its website," Patnaik wrote in the letter.

"I would like you to instruct the officials concerned in your government to correct the mistake immediately," Patnaik said adding that Odisha has undertaken several eco-tourism projects in the hills to attract tourists.
