Udupi, Apr 20: Speaking at a BJP youth convention in Udupi, state BJP president B Y Vijayendra stated Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decade-long leadership, asserting that Hinduism runs deep in coastal communities. Vijayendra proclaimed that under Modi's stewardship, the world has celebrated numerous milestones, including the construction of the Ram Mandir and the abrogation of Article 370, while crediting the Prime Minister for transforming the impossible into reality.

Vijayendra emphasized that Modi's tenure has infused confidence across the nation, highlighting developmental strides achieved during his rule. “Pushing back against allegations, he vowed to safeguard the constitution amidst criticism from opposition leader Kharge, who accused the BJP of intending to alter it. Kharge calls that Modi should not become Prime Minister again but Congress massacred Ambedkar while he was still alive and it was Congress party that defeated Ambedkar. Even Baba Saheb's last rites were not allowed and Ambedkar's Panch Tirthakshetra was developed by Modi-BJP government,” he said.

Criticizing the state government's handling of law and order, Vijayendra expressed concern over the safety of women, citing the case of Neha as a victim of love jihad. Despite attempts by the chief minister and home minister to downplay the issue as personal, he argued that deteriorating law enforcement has left girls vulnerable, questioning whether Karnataka is turning into a state akin to the Taliban.

Karkala MLA V Sunil Kumar said, “The 11 months under the Siddaramaiah government have seen a decline in the state's atmosphere. This election is crucial for us. The increased presence of Muslims in the state, attributed to Siddaramaiah's policies, has instilled fear among the people. Instances like the Hubballi incident have made parents hesitant to send their daughters to college. Moreover, the installation of cameras in toilets at Udupi college and the immediate booking of over 300 Hindus on Ugadi day without proper investigation have fuelled apprehension. It is concerning that cases like 'Pakistan Zindabad' went without filing for four days.”

Earlier preparations were made for the convention near Kadiyali BJP office, but the convention was shifted due to rain last night. B Y Vijayendra also held a road show on the occasion.
