Kalaburgi district to be transformed into agriculture hub, says Priyank Kharge

Kalaburgi, Apr 15: Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge has promised to transform the entire Kalaburgi district into an agriculture hub and necessary steps will be taken in the next six months.

Addressing the Ganj Traders Association and other associations of the area on Monday to campaign for the success of the Congress candidate Dr Radhakrishna Doddamani, the minister said the State Government will be spending Rs 39 crore on the agriculture make-over of the entire Kalaburgi district and the sought the cooperation of all sections for the purpose.

The proposed agriculture hub will take all steps to ensure protection of the agricultural crops and provide better marketing facilities for the agricultural produce. A well-equipped cold storage, custom hire centre, distribution centre for modern equipments for farmers along with value addition centre will be part of the entire project, he explained.

There is a proposal to shift the Nehru Ganj in the outskirts to provide more space, better facilities and avoid congestion in the existing Ganj market area, he said and the State Government will proceed with the matter after the Lok Sabha polls.

Priyank Kharge, who is also the son of AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, said the election is crucial for the development of the entire region as well as the State as Congress party alone has delivered on its promises and implemented the assembly poll promises of guarantees, which have helped the poor and women.

Medical Education Minister Dr Sharan Prakash Patil said the Congress government has withdrawn the APMC Act amendments brought in by the Modi government and passed by the previous Bommai regime.

Congress MLA Kaneej Fatima, Kalaburgi district Congress president Jagadeva Guttedar, Ganj Traders Association president Shrimantharao Udanur and others attended the meeting.

    yes this is the best manifesto i heard ..focus on agri and oragnic growing and people will flourish ...excellent thought. set up agri university and research indigenous with indian scientists to nurture local breed of plants animals
