Curbing terrorist activities challenging until Cong mindset changes - Araga Jnanendra

Udupi, Apr 13: "I am heartened to hear about the arrest in the Rameshwaram Cafe bomb blast case. If we are living in peace, then the National Investigative Agency (NIA) deserves credit for that," stated former Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra in Udupi.

"They were missing for the past two years. Congress leaders, especially DKS, objected to labeling the bomb blast in Mangalore as a terrorist act. He even referred to the perpetrators as brothers. In the cafe case too, the Chief Minister and a few ministers termed it as a business rivalry. Until the mindset of the Congress changes, it will be challenging to curb terrorist activities in the country. They have made numerous attempts to disrupt peace. I congratulate the NIA, police, and allied agencies for their efforts. No one should believe they can evade consequences after engaging in such activities. Congress is playing vote bank politics even when condemning terrorist activities. Since Narendra Modi formed the NIA team, bomb blasts and terrorist activities have significantly decreased."

Addressing concerns about Thirthahalli becoming a new hotbed for terror activities, Jnanendra expressed, "We used to take pride in Thirthahalli being known as a land of intellectuals, activists, and eminent personalities. But due to the mischievous behavior of some youths, the name of Thirthahalli is being tarnished. This has dismayed the residents of Thirthahalli. Saiprasad was called as a witness, but despite the state government's health minister and many others suggesting that BJP activists are involved in such terrorist activities, he was merely called as a witness."

"Congress cannot garner votes based on any of its leaders' names. The INDIA alliance has failed in every state. BJP will secure victory in 400 seats again," he added.

The press meet was attended by Kishore Kumar Kundapur, district BJP president Kediyoor Udaykumar Shetty, Mangaluru division in charge Reshma Udaykumar Shetty, district BJP secretary Srinidhi Hegde, and media coordinator.
