'Future.AI’ seminar concludes, paving way for AI-enriched future

Udupi, Apr 8: The "Future.AI" seminar, jointly presented by the Department of Commerce (DoC), Manipal, MAHE, and the I-BAT- THE THINK TANK, established a dynamic platform for disseminating groundbreaking AI concepts and their applications across various industries.

The event commenced with a warm welcome by Dr Sandeep Shenoy, the Head of DoC-Manipal, who set a hospitable tone for the proceedings. CA K. Rajaram Shetty, President of I-BAT, illuminated the core objectives of the "Future.AI" seminar and highlighted I-BAT's ongoing initiatives.

Commander Dr Anil Rana, Director of Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), delivered an inaugural address, underscoring the vital role of adaptability and foresight in the age of rapid technological evolution. In his view, the essence of effective leadership lies in the willingness to embrace change. Dr Somashekara Bhat, joint director of MIT-Manipal, added depth to the conversation with his insights on AI's burgeoning influence within the educational sector.

The seminar, designed by Dr Dasharathraj K Shetty, secretary-general of I-BAT, featured an impressive roster of speakers. Dr Neha Gandhi ventured into the realm of generative AI, and Dr Manu Sudhi articulated the recent strides made by AI in medical treatments. Advocate Pranav Bhat skillfully navigated the complexities of AI and intellectual property rights.

Dr Vidya Rao offered her expertise on the nuanced interplay between AI and cybersecurity. Anusha Pai provided an overview of AI's integration in the hospitality industry, while Krishna P Bhat brought his personal experiences from the AI startup domain to the fore. Dr Jayaraj M Balakrishnan, HoD, Department of Emergency Medicine was present on the occasion.

As the seminar drew to a close, Dr Vikram Baliga delivered a thoughtful vote of thanks, appreciating the contributions of all involved. Princia Nikita D’Souza and Nikita Panwar handled the compering and ensured the seminar's agenda was conveyed engagingly and effectively.

The "Future.AI" seminar has showcased AI's expansive impact and kindled a forward-looking discussion among emerging leaders, professionals, and scholars.
