Beltangady: Tree falls on road, traffic affected for hours

Daijiworld Media Network – Beltangady (MS)

Beltangady, Mar 28: A tree fell on the road near Siddavana on the Ujire-Dharmasthala road, causing disruption to traffic for several hours. Fortunately, no injuries or damages were reported. Local residents and forest officials collaborated to clear the fallen tree and ensure the smooth flow of traffic.

However, members of the public have accused the relevant department officials of negligence, claiming that the tree, which was dry and on the verge of falling, had not been addressed for several days. Given that thousands of vehicles traverse this road daily, such oversights pose significant risks to commuters.

The incident recalled a tragic event from four years ago when two individuals lost their lives after a tree fell on their car at the same location.
