Beltangady: Illegal cutting, collection of wood – Four arrested

Beltangady, Mar 27: The forest department has apprehended four individuals in connection with the illegal cutting and collection of wood and timber in a private estate located in Ambate Male, Neriya village.

The total value of the timber seized amounts to Rs 7,02,276. The arrested individuals include Bailu Nazir from Kolpeda, Parenki village; Mohammad Rafeeq from Chibidre village; Bharat Kumar Kothari from Bunder in Mangaluru; and Vinu, the estate manager of Gandibagilina. They were subsequently released on bail.

ACF Sridhar P., Beltangady RFO Mohan Kumar BG, DRFO Yatindra, and Santhosh were among the officials who participated in the operation.
