Bengaluru: 28th KRYC Council & Election 2024 held

Bengaluru, Mar 25: The 28th KRYC Council convened on March 17, at Subodhana (KROSS) Bengaluru. Presided over by esteemed chairman, Bishop Henry D'Souza, the council brought together representatives from 14 dioceses, including members from ICYM , YCS/YSM, Logos Youth, Jesus Youth, MIJARC and AICUF totaling 66 delegates. Among them were youth directors and animators dedicated to advancing the collective mission.

The council commenced with engaging ice-breaking sessions facilitated by REXCO, fostering a spirit of camaraderie among participants, followed by an invocation seeking divine blessings. The gathering was warmly welcomed by the ICYM Regional president Sanjay DSouza paving the way for the chairman Bishop Henry D'Souza to deliver an inspiring message to all attendees.

Subsequently, reports from various youth movements were presented, along with the review of the previous KRYC Council's outcomes, expertly delivered by ICYM joint secretary 1, Sharon Thomas. Following a brief interlude for tea, the council reconvened with a roll call led by the chairman.

The highlight of the day was the KRYC Council election, where office bearers were elected from diverse movements. Sanjay D'Souza, ICYM regional president was appointed the role of coordinator, Jessica was elected secretary representing AICUF, Don was appointed assistant coordinator from Logos Youth, and Metha was named joint secretary, also from Logos Youth and others were nominated as members of KRYC Council.

The active participation of youths from all dioceses and movements enriched the discussions, which encompassed various agendas, forthcoming programmes, and deliberations on the ruby jubilee year. Consensus was reached on several decisions, reflecting the collective interests of the majority.

As the council drew to a close, Ashley D'Souza, regional ICYM secretary, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all attendees. The day concluded with a reverent Eucharistic celebration, followed by a lunch, fostering fellowship and solidarity among the participants.
