Mangaluru: Sthree Sangatan Neermarga unit celebrates Women’s Day

Mangaluru, Mar 19: Mother Mary Sthree Sanghatan of St Joseph the Worker Church, Neermarga Parish celebrated the International Women's Day on March 17.

At 7.30 in the morning, the association members partook in the high mass, conducting the liturgy. In the stage programme that succeeded the mass, Fr Paul Pinto, the parish priest, Francis Gonsalves, the vice-president, parish pastoral council, Usha Fernandes, the secretary PPC and president, Sthree Sanghatan, Sr Sujatha, superior, Holy Cross Convent, Maurice Renjal, the coordinator, 21 pastoral committees were present on the dais.

Usha Fernandes extended a warm welcome to all, followed by singing theme song of the Women's Association, by members. Parish priest in his message elucidated the essence of gender equality.

Zita Saldanha and Jyothi Rebello conducted group games, with prizes awarded to the winners.

Rishel Pereira delivered the vote of thanks. Reshma Pereira served as the program's emcee. The programme concluded with refreshments.
