Mangaluru: Investor Awareness Programme held at DPDPPSPGFGC college

Mangaluru, Mar 18: Investor Awareness Programme was held in DPDPPSPGFGC college for II BSc, BSW & BCA students of our College on March 18. It was the initiative of IQAC of the college in association with Commerce Association & department of Sciences, Computer Application & Social Work and Collaboration of Mangalore University Commerce Teachers Association (MUCTA) ®

The objective of organizing the IAP is to encourage and enhance the financial literacy among the students and encouraging them to share the knowledge among their family members and help take informed decisions in the field of investment.



The programme began with Prayer song from II BCA students. A prelude to IAP was given by Louis Manoj, general secretary of MUCTA and assistant professor at DPDPPSPGFGC, Car Street.

The day had three sessions:

Session 1: Financial Literacy by Naveen Rego, a SEBI Registered Investment Advisor and Certified Financial Planner. Geetha A M of II BSc introduced the speaker.

Session 2: Back to Basics by Leo Amal A, senior branch manager, Franklin Templeton India Private Ltd. Jasmine D’Souza of II BCA introduced the speaker.

Session 3: Personal Financial Planning – Hands on by Elston Menezes, Investment Services Professional from Mangaluru. Likitha M of II BSW introduced the speaker.

The inaugural programme was eloquently compered by Rajeshwari of II BSc. In all, 260 II year BSc, BSW & BCA and five teachers benefited out of this programme.
