Mangaluru: Lourdes Central School organizes 'LCS Colloquium 2024'

Mangaluru, Mar 18: Lourdes Central School organized 'LCS Colloquium 2024', a celebration of knowledge and talent on Saturday, March 16 at Bejai Church Hall.

The dignitaries present on the occasion were Dr John Baptist Saldanha, manager, the chief guest Bhavana Karkera, Fr Robert DSouza, the principal, guest of honour, Ganesh K, entrepreneur, Belita Mascarenhas and Anita Thomas, the vice principals, Fr Suraj Lobo, Fr Leston Lobo, Bejai parish pastoral parishad vice president and secretary, Ashok Pinto. 

The programme began at 9.00 am with a prayer dance to connect with the divine in a language beyond words. Krishnadasa Raja of class XIIB welcomed the gathering. This was followed by a thematic skit ‘Reach for the Top’ by the students of class XII. The students of class IX and XI with 100% attendance, three top scorers and above 90% were felicitated by the dignitaries.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr John Baptist Saldanha. He stated that students as a child listened to their parents and this attitude should continue all their life. He added that education at LCS is a holistic approach integrating people.  

Ganesh K, the guest of honour and Dr Bhavana Karkera, the chief guest were  introduced by Deepa D'Souza, and felicitated by the dignitaries on the stage.

Bhavana Karkera in her message told the students to follow their passion, regulate time and pursue their talents. She highlighted on Emotional Intelligence and indicated that children who are trained in emotional intelligence are able to handle stress and have a good rapport with people. She specified that emotional intelligence increases awareness, develops inter-personal relationships, and gives an insight into one’s own thinking and belief. She communicated that students should practice mindfulness, introspect on self, check their goals, practice gratitude and have a sense of purpose.

Ganesh K, the guest of honour said that LCS was a school with a difference that does not compromise on values and expressed his gratitude to the school.

The floor was open for question and answer session to both parents and students.

The principal Fr Robert D'Souza spoke on the occasion and said that LCS Colloquium is a platform to encourage, motivate and inspire the students to achieve more. He wished the students success for class X and XII. He saluted the parents for accompanying their ward, and thanked Mr Ganesh and Dr Bhavana for their goodwill, love and support for LCS.

Gratitude was expressed by Trishitha Ashok of class XA. The programme ended with the national anthem. The programme was compered by Shourya Shetty of class XC and Neola Monteiro of class XB.
