Udupi: Man scammed of Rs 4.42 lac in fake overseas employment scheme

Udupi, Mar 17: Christan D’Souza, a resident of Hejmady village, has filed a complaint with the Padubidri police station, alleging that he was scammed of Rs 4.42 lac between October 2023 and February 2024 by two individuals claiming to represent Global Career Solutions. The scam artists, identified as Sumit and Subhash, reportedly conducted various transactions using three mobile phones and duped Christan by promising overseas employment opportunities.

According to the complaint, the perpetrators convinced Christan to transfer the money via Google Pay under false pretenses.

The Padubidri police are currently investigating the matter.
