Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (JD)

Udupi, Mar 16: With the model code of conduct for the Lok Sabha elections enforced since March 16, the Udupi district administration has imposed restrictions on the use of licensed weapons and ammunition.

In an order issued by Udupi deputy commissioner Dr Vidyakumari K, all licensed holders of arms and ammunition are required to deposit their weapons and ammunition at nearby police stations. These items will only be returned after the conclusion of the model code of conduct. The order exempts the usage of weapons for governmental security personnel and bank security personnel.

The district commissioner has urged citizens to promptly report any violations of this directive to the nearest police station.
