Media Release

Udupi, Mar 6: In a heart-warming gesture of compassion and solidarity, members of the Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) from Kalmady unit visited the Manasa Special Children School in Pambur on March 3.

The team consisted of  25 individuals including 13 ICYM members, 4 catechism teachers, a church secretary, and 7 members from a sponsor family.

The programme commenced with an introduction and welcoming address by Henry Menezes, the president of Manasa Rehabilitation School, followed by a prayer service conducted by ICYM members and teachers.

Under the leadership of Namitha Fernandes, vice president of ICYM, a series of games and action songs were organized, bringing laughter and joy to the children who eagerly participated. Despite their circumstances, the children displayed remarkable resilience, finding happiness in the simple moments shared with the visitors.

As a token of love and gratitude, ICYM Kalmady donated essential items such as soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and antiseptic liquid for every child present at the school.

Special appreciation was extended to Lancer Quadros for his guidance and support, with gratitude for his timely response to their appeal.

Jeshma Mendonca, the cultural secretary of ICYM Kalmady, compered the programme.
