Objection for proposal to extend Mumbai-Madgaon Vande Bharat train to Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Mar 4: Konkan Vikas Samiti, which takes care of the welfare of Mumbai railway passengers, has strongly objected to the proposal of extending train number 22229/22230, Vande Bharat express that runs between Mumbai and Madgaon to Mangaluru. In addition, it has also objected for connecting 20645/20646 Mangaluru-Madgaon Vande Bharat express train to the Mumbai-Madgaon Vande Bharat express train.

In a press release, Konkan Vikas Samiti, said, “Mumbai-Madgaon train is running to full capacity. In order to fulfil the demands of passengers of this sector there is necessity of 16 bogies. However, by extending this train to Mangaluru, passengers of Mumbai-Ratnagiri, Sindhudurga-Goa section will face shortage of seats. Instead, Mangaluru-Madgaon 20645/20646 train can be extended to Mumbai as a separate train. This will not only reduce the additional crowding of passengers but also increase the connectivity between Mangaluru and Mumbai.

“Moreover, by providing stoppages for the Mumbai-Madgaon train in stations where there is no stoppage at present, it will make it convenient for the passengers residing near those railway stations. There is also an opportunity to begin Amrit Bharat or Vande Bharat sleeper coach between Mangaluru and Mumbai,” stated the release.

It is high time that there should be double track from Mumbai to mangalore. Already kerala state has made double track for their convinent. It is the duty of elected representative and Samit to see double track are putup the matter to the railway minister on fast track, then we can say Bharat is developed country. Even the mangalore should have separate division inside of going pallakad division for any improvement at mangalore. Here mangalore is not getting share of revenue, if they fought for separate mangalore rail division, then more improvement had happened.

Getting seats on Mumbai / Madgoan is very difficult and it would not be a feasible move to extend it upto Mangalore. Rather, railways should make a bold decision and extend the current service of Mangalore / Madgoan upto Mumbai, by which the train will not only get the full load, but also shall be helpful to Mangalore people who can travel well upto Mumbai in a superfast train. Off course for such a long journey sitting and travelling make be a concern, but surely it shall benefit in many ways to the passengers as well as to the railways.
