Mangaluru: Chintan S Shetty of Mangala Swimming Club creates international record

Mangaluru, Feb 28: Chintan S Shetty, a member of Mangala Swimming Club here has created a record in swimming. He competed in the 15-16 year old boys’ division Taliss-IST international competitions at Tanzania, Africa upon invitation. He competed in 50 and 100 meters freestyle, 50 and 100 meters butterfly individual medley swimming competitions and created new records. He won silver medal in the 400 meters individual swimming competitions, bronze medal in 4+50 meters medley relay, bagged individual championship and brought glory to the district, state and the country.

Chintan S Shetty is a student of Ramakrishna High School, Bunts Hostel, Mangaluru. He obtained training from the senior trainer of the club, M Shivananda Gatty, international trainers Shishir S Gatty, Keertan S Shetty, Chetan S Shetty, Rajesh Kharvi Bengre at the corporation swimming pool, Mangaluru.
