Byndoor, Feb 26: Leaders of Dalit organization began an indefinite hunger strike in front of the Byndoor taluk office on Monday, alleging injustice to Dalits for not allocating DC Manna land, which was reserved for Dalits in Shiroor village and depriving them of their rights.

The organization activists said, “Despite 76 years of independence, economically, educationally, and socially suppressing Dalits are suppressed, undermining their constitutional rights, and administration has displayed anti-Dalit behaviour. Until our demands are met and the CM visits the protest site Shiroor Dalit leaders will continue their hunger strike.”

Dalit leaders Ramesh Shiroor, Raghavendra Shiroor, Ram Byndoor and Mahalakshmi Byndoor are participating in the indefinite hunger strike.
